Vadim Yusov

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of Vadim Yusov, who died at home in Moscow early yesterday. He was 84. We had the pleasure of interviewing him at VGIK last September for our film Andrei Tarkovsky: Cinema of Dreams, and he was charming, funny and full of life. We can't believe he's gone. Raise a glass to one of the greatest of all cinematographers. Vadim Ivanovich! Eternal Memory!

Karen Black 1939-2013

Actress Karen Black has died aged 74. She was guest of honour at the Maine International Film Festival last year, when we presented Folie a Deux. MIFF showed a season of Karen's films, including Five Easy Pieces, and what was then her most recent film, Vacationland. Something from the Beeb on the story here:

Thanks for the films, Karen.

The Glasgow Film Festival screening of Boat went very well - a good turn out and the film had received a good reception. Many thanks to all who came.

The film is currently out on the rounds of other festivals. When one bites, we'll let you know.
